So much of CANADA is still unspoiled.

This site is designed to highlight a limited number of top quality vacation options in their respective field. Choose which companies you would like information from using our form. Once you receive your promotional materials look them over. Then we suggest that you speak to the operators themselves. Spend a few minutes learning the details of the packages only an operator can provide directly. Your travel agent is good for booking airlines, but they can never fully understand the adventures better than the operator.

LAZY M RANCH, Central Alberta
The Lazy M is a working ranch with over 200 head of cattle. You'll feel at home on the range as soon as you arrive at the Lazy M. Whether you visit the first time for world-class trout fishing or the excellent horseback riding, you'll come back for the Hospitality, Horsemanship & Home Cooking - the "Cowboy Way". It's "country R&R," and the reason so many of our guests become regulars.
Fantastic view
view of the lodge 48k
The setting is rolling ranch country, with walking or riding access to miles of trails across meadows and pasture and through birch, spruce and pine woods. Soak up the scenery from the sunny deck, or while relaxing in the 10 person hot tub. Great conversation and an abundance of home grown, home cooked meals are enjoyed in the lodge. Coffee, tea and home baking are always on hand.
We take the time to match you with the right horse and can ride out with us to check the calves in the spring, or join one of the many short pasture rotation cattle drives we hold throughout the summer. Learn the basics of the working cow horse. Tips on horsemanship precede each ride and a fun practice in the corral is encouraged. Our rides are guided, but do not expect the standard "trail ride" experience at the Lazy M. Our cattle horses love the open country. You can lope across the fields or walk quietly by the lake - it's up to you. Ask about the Clearwater Valley rides - an experience to remember!
Trout Unlimited Our lodge and guest house both overlook Stauffer Creek, the finest spring fed creek in Alberta. Also known as the North Raven River, the challenging Stauffer is a favorite for sports fishermen, and many believe the best stretch is the one that winds through the Lazy M. Famous for its brown trout, the Stauffer is also good for brook trout. The Lazy M is the perfect spot for a fly-fishing holiday. A 10 minute drive will bring you to the banks of Prairie Creek, South Raven River, Clear Creek or the Clearwater River.
Ask about our new "Mountaineer Package" where we take you for an overnight ride on the Eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
Packages available range from weekend specials up to 14 day Great Canadian Cowboy Packages. Package Price is $150 CDN/person per day
Better yet combine the Lazy M packages with some of the Alberta Adventures (canoeing, skijoring; dog sledding; canyon walking; ice climbing; snowmobiling) into your dream vacation!!! Full winter details are available here

(Base camps are permanent, Spike camps are "Indian bedrooms" beneath the pine trees and stars in alpine basins.) Ride all day and never see another person, pass through isolated valleys, head across the mountain passes once used by the Indians, and later for prospectors, then travel down into U shaped valley bottoms that open up into wild hay meadows... View glaciers of the rugged Coast Range to the west and the glaciated Chilcotin Mountains to the east, ride along a mountain stream red from the leaching of minerals.
